Professional Experience

Dick Barnard founded Barnard Vogler & Co. in 1969. He has over 40 years of accounting, auditing, consulting and income taxation experience with clients of all sizes in both industry and government. He is currently the Director of Management Advisory Services for the firm. Dick’s areas of practice include planning and compliance in corporate, individual, partnership, trust and estate taxation, assistance with purchase and sale of businesses and general business consulting.

Community Involvement

Dick is chairman of the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority and the National Security Forum of northern Nevada.  He is a founding member and past president of the Reno Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants and the Executives Association of Reno. He has served as chairman of the State of Nevada Board of Equalization, as treasurer of the Community Foundation of Western Nevada.  Dick has also served on the Board of Directors of the Nevada Public Education Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is an emeritus member of the University of Nevada, Reno College of Education Advisory Board and the UNR Foundation.


Dick graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Accounting.
